Craig and Chuck went over essential topics and procedures related to responding to an emergency involving a hunter or tree stand. Special things to note: Hunters are often in remote locations. It is important to attempt to get coordinates for the hunters location. Often tree stands are 20 feet or more in the air. A ladder is going to be a necessity for rescuing someone in an elevated position. Approximately 50% of hunters do not use a fall restraint device. Most tree stand emergencies are due to falling. The emergency could be caused during climbing, equipment failure, falling asleep, losing balance while standing, or secondary to a medical event.
